Membership
The Southern Hills Arts Council is a nonprofit organization serving Jackson County and the surrounding area. We work to enhance the quality of life in the region by encouraging and stimulating the practice and appreciation of the arts. Your membership is critical to our continued operation. Membership is open to all. Activities are free of any discrimination based on race, gender, color, religion, national origin, or disability.
In-house programming includes our Gallery, Writers Circle, Knitters, D.M. Davis Male Voice Choir, Art Camp, and Newsletter. We have two prominent events, which are not held in-house: Foothills Art Festival and Children’s Summer Arts Classes.
Your membership helps support Southern Hills Arts Council as we bring programming to the community at low or no cost, but does not commit you to any active participation. Please help us continue to broaden cultural horizons for folks in Southern Ohio by renewing your membership or starting a brand new one.
Membership Levels:
Student Membership: (full-time students 22 years of age and younger) $20.00 per calendar year. Entitles the member a 10% discount for general admission to Markay performances, as well as discounts on SHAC classes.
Senior Membership: (those 60 years of age and older) $20.00 per calendar year. Entitles the member a 10% discount for general admission to Markay performances, as well as discounts on SHAC classes.
Individual Membership: $30.00 per calendar year. Entitles members to a 10% discount for general admission to Markay performances, as well as discounts on SHAC classes.
Household Membership: $60.00 per calendar year. Entitles members of an immediate family to a 10% discount for general admission to Markay performances, as well as discounts on SHAC classes. Invitation to quarterly Arts after Hours events, and two free tickets (up to $20.00 each) to performances of choice in the theater.
Performing Arts Membership: $100 per calendar year. Entitles individual members to a 10% discount for general admission to Markay performances, discounts on SHAC classes, invitation to quarterly Arts after Hours events, 2 free tickets (up to $20.00 each) to performances of choice in the theater. Recognition in event programs and on the lobby’s electronic displays, and 25% off one gallery rental of up to 6 hours
Cultural Arts Membership: $250 per calendar year. Entitles individual membership to a 10% discount to general admission to Markay performances, discounts on SHAC classes, invitations to quarterly Arts after Hours events and participation in annual membership meetings with voting privileges. Four free tickets (up to $20.00 each) to performances of choice in the theater, recognition in event programs on the lobby displays and during movie premiers, and 50% off one gallery rental of up to 6 hours.
Sustaining Arts Membership: $500 per calendar year. Entitles individual membership to a 10% discount to general admission to Markay performances, discounts on SHAC classes, invitations to quarterly Arts after Hours events and participation in annual membership meetings with voting privileges. Four free tickets (up to $20.00 each) to performances of choice in the theater, recognition in event programs on the lobby displays and during movie premiers, one free gallery rental of up to 6 hours, and 2 free tickets to Evening with the Arts.
