The Southern Hills Arts Council held their annual meeting on Friday, December 1. The meeting served as a wrap up of the Council’s work in 2017 and spotlighted the upcoming year.
During the event, Southern Hills Arts Council Board of Trustees President Cora Willett, announced that the 2017 Southern Hills Arts Council’s Volunteer of the Year was Randy Clawson.
“The recipient of this year’s Volunteer of th Year award can be found is nearly every aspect of SHAC and the Markay! Sometimes you’ll find him backstage or in the tech-booth. He is here sometimes hours before shows for loading-in equipment, assisting during sound checks. He has painted and repaired some of our box office and storage room walls, when needed,” Willett said of Clawson. “At Foothills Art Festival, you can find him on the hanging crew, the card placement crew, the set-up and tear-down crews and many times in between, just to make sure all is ok,” she added.
Clawson is credited with over 100 hours of volunteer hours.
“Always, eager, willing and generous with his time, his abilities and his smiles, we are so glad to be able to award the Volunteer of the Year award to Randy Clawson,” Willett said.
